Následky ničivých povodní
Velká voda, která se v minulých týdnech převalila přes celý náš region, neušetřila při svém řádění ani atletický stadion v Krnově a zázemí našeho klubu. V době kulminace řek Opavy a Opavice se plocha stadionu proměnila v jedno velké jezero. Po ústupu vody zůstal naprosto celý stadion pokryt tlustou vrstvou mazlavého bahna. Jeho odstranění členům atletického klubu a pracovníkům technických služeb trvalo více než měsíc. Na pomoc nám přijeli také vězni v rámci veřejné služby.
Újmu utrpěly jak doskočiště skoku vysokého, tak skoku o tyči. Také je potřeba kompletně vyměnit písek v obou doskočištích dálky. Z vybavení klubu bylo poškozeno nebo zničeno množství pěnových překážek a takřka všechny uložené tretry. Čištění všeho vybavení nám zabralo mnoho hodin. V důsledku povodní bylo zrušeno nebo odloženo mnoho krajských soutěží. Naši atleti se nemohli připravovat ani v tělocvičnách, které dlouhé týdny po povodních sloužily k ubytování vojáků a evakuovaných.
